Michigan Covid19 Photo Series & The Midwest Broken Mirror Project Creative Embers is a registered 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization that supports independent artistic projects and provides opportunities for artists to further their communities’ development, advocate for survivors, and creatively shape our culture. Our education-based work has connected survivors and helped train law enforcement, first-responders, supreme court justices, social workers, nonprofit professionals, students, and teachers throughout the U.S. —- CURRENT PROJECTS —- THE MICHIGAN COVID-19 SERIES: A photo and zoom interview series documenting the stories of 19 Survivors of Covid-19 throughout Michigan. BREAK THE CHAIN: An award-winning independent documentary film and educational program showcasing the hidden-in-plain-sight issue of Human Trafficking within Michigan and the United States. THE MIDWEST BROKE MIRROR PROJECT: The Midwest Broken Mirror Project is a photo/video series of body image stories. The series explores how our culture, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, trauma, and abilities affect how we feel about bodies, our own, and others. EVERY TWO MINUTES: Every Two Minutes is a 2014 documentary film and college orientation program that brought greater attention to the issue of sexual assault on college campuses and communities across our nation. The film weaves the narratives of 14 survivors of sexual abuse and highlights the work within the Michigan State Center for Survivors. THE GLOBAL TRAUMA PROCESSING PROJECT: The GTPP (Global Trauma Processing Project) is a research-based mini docuseries in collaboration with Kintla Striker of Kintla Yoga and the KYT Method. The series documents the research findings of how three varying cultures and communities respond to traumatic stress. THE #NOCHAINS CAMPAIGN: A campaign generating a call-to-action to stop the over-usage of exploitative imagery in Human Trafficking awareness initiatives.
